In many cases, historical soil data from the vicinity of the proposed tower can be reliably used; however, this requires experience and judgment from both the provider of the geotechnical data and the foundation design engineer. Use of previously supplied data that is not directly taken from the site being evaluated can in many cases lead to unintended inappropriate foundation design for the actual site being constructed.
Although the paperwork or documentation is deemed valid or appropriate, unless there are photographs or other proof that the actual site was bored and properly tested, there may be very costly repercussions.
RPI provides the experience required to evaluate, conduct and confirm all phases of the methodology used for the soil test results to provide the most efficient and appropriate foundation design and to perform the foundation installation.
